CARPATHIAN WOODEN CHURCHES (Slovakia)
Between the 16th and 18th centuries eight unique wooden churches and a belfry were built in the Slovak region occupied by the Carpathian Mountains. Two of the churches are Roman Catholic, three are Protestant, and three Greek Catholic churches; the belfry is by a Protestant church. The country has about 50 other wooden churches besides the eight designees.
