Tidal Flats (Getbol), South Korea, Asia

TIDAL FLATS ("GETBOL") (South Korea)

Inscribed in the UNESCO List in 2021, these four areas in SW Korea feature four different types of tidal flats (estuarine, open embayed, archipelago, and semi-enclosed). Together they cover about 500 square miles and are home to 2,150 species of flora and fauna, 22 of which are threatened to some degree. They are also on the East Asia Flyway for migratory birds.
