Divrigi Mosque, Turkey

DIVRIGI MOSQUE (Turkey)

This exquisitely carved mosque and adjoining hospital were built at Divrigi in 1228-1229. The construction of the vault, the creativity in the three doorways, and the unadorned interior place these buildings among the most important works of architecture in Anatolia (Asia Minor, the large peninsula in Western Asia between the Mediterranean and Black Seas).
